A hands on, interactive course teaching simple First Aid & CPR techniques for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. Learn how to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for adults, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission. Participants will also learn how (and become certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

To be eligible to receive your Ontario Security Guard License, you must have completed at minimum, Emergency Level First Aid & CPR. This course can be completed as a 1 day in class course or as a blended course of 4 hours online and 4 hours in class.
Our one-day Emergency First Aid and CPR training course accounts for 6.5 hours of the 40 hours required for Ontario Security Guard Training Course. The other 33.5hrs are completed online (Security Guard Course). Our First Aid course include CPR level C, and 3 year certification cards are issued on the same day. This course is recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and meets all the of Ontario Health and Safety (OHS) regulations for Basic First Aid. All students who complete the First Aid training and CPR course will receive the Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR Manual Certification card which is valid for three years.
As a security guard, your duty is to respond to emergency medical situations that occur wherever you are working. This means that you are often first on scene to assess a situation and call 911 if required.
Our Emergency First Aid and CPR training course will teach you how to respond to those in need of immediate medical attention. First aid and CPR is an integral part of the security guard training course, and can be critical to saving someone’s life before paramedics arrive. By completing our course, you will learn the necessary First Aid and CPR skills to provide emergency medical attention. You will be able to respond accordingly when someone is going into cardiac arrest, choking, slips or falls, as well as deal with other emergencies such as bleeding, anaphylactic shock, and bandaging wounds.

Students interested in taking the emergency First Aid and CPR course should consult the updated schedules and then purchase it from Security Guard Course’s online course list on the main menu. Once you’ve purchased the course, simply email us at [email protected] with the date and location you wish to attend. We will book it for you and email you the confirmation. Once you complete the class and receive your First Aid Certificate, you will then email a copy to Security Guard Course, and we will upload it to Serco in order to issue your Training Completion Number and exam booking instructions.
Please be advised that failure to notify SGC by email within 48 hours of your confirmed class that you cannot attend will result in the forfeit of your course fee. This is because seats are limited and in high demand. Thank you.
