What is a Training Completion Number (TCN)?

What is a Training Completion Number?

One of the first questions our Security Guard Training students often ask is, “How do get my TCN (Training Completion Number)”?

In order for you to receive your Security Guard License via securityguardcourse.ca you must complete the online security guard training course that is 33.5 hours and complete Emergency Level First Aid which is a 1 day in class course (usually 6.5hrs).  These two parts make up the Ontario Security Guard Training Course.

Once we have confirmed that you have met these requirements and we have received your filled out Consent Form (emailed to the student upon sign-up) and a copy of your valid First Aid Certificate, we process your Training Completion Number.

The TCN is then emailed to you directly from Serco (ontariosecuritytesting.com) along with a link to book your Security Guard Exam.  Your Security Guard Exam will be written in person and is a multiple choice, 60 question test.

This process is identical for our Online Private Investigator Course students with a few minor differences.

The Ontario Ministry of The Solicitor General requires our Private Investigator Course students to complete a 50hr online course based on their guidelines.  Once we have confirmed that you have completed the 50hrs and we have received your filled out Consent Form (emailed to the student upon sign-up) we process your Training Completion Number.  Note that First Aid is NOT a requirement to attain your Ontario Private Investigator License.

The TCN (Training Completion Number) does not expire so students can take their time once they have completed the Security Guard Training or Private Investigator Training Course and have plenty of time to prepare before writing the Ministry Exam.

Our Online Security Guard Course & Online Private Investigator Course students also are emailed a Practice Test upon sign up which they can study in order to further prepare for their Security Guard or Private Investigator Exam.
