Why I Have My Ontario Security Guard License

Why I Have My Ontario Security Guard License

“Letter From A Former student”

Recently I decided to take the 40hr Ontario Security Guard Training Course.  I was able to complete it on my own time and at my own pace which was great.  I did need my Emergency Level First Aid Certification which is part of the 40hr course so I attended a Saturday class in Toronto.

The Customer Service staff at Security Guard Course booked my First Aid Training quickly and emailed me the booking confirmation that had directions and any information I needed to know.

Throughout the online training of the actual security guard training course, I had a few questions and had emailed the Security Guard Course office.  The people there were very knowledgeable as they have years in the Private Security industry.

Once I had completed the 33.5hrs of online study and emailed the office my Consent Form (which they had attached to my “welcome email”) and First Aid Certificate, I received an email with my Training Completion Number (TCN) and link to book my Security Guard License exam at my nearest Service Ontario location.

I checked the testing website 24hrs after I wrote my exam and I passed!  The multiple choice questions that I answered were straightforward and the material in the security guard training course definitely prepared me for the exam.

With my Ontario Security Training complete, my Security Guard exam passed and my Ontario Security License in the mail, I was off to apply for a job!  How exciting!

I quickly interviewed with a couple licensed agencies in Toronto who were hiring for event security work which I thought might be an interesting way to learn on the job and be involved behind the scenes in some sports and entertainment venues.  I was right!  Within 2 weeks of being hired, I worked at a concert and at a sporting event!

I wanted to share my story about my journey and what my Ontario Security License has done for me.  I could not have done it without the support from the staff at Security Guard Course.

Thanks Guys!
