Security Guard Training From Home

With the advent of Covid-19 and the lifestyle changes it brings, primarily self-isolation and staying at home, the interest in e-learning from home has grown significantly and many now have the extra time and circumstances to complete Security Guard training right from the safety and comfort of their home by enrolling in our online security course.

Security companies are hiring and we are open for business!  Security companies have been deemed an ESSENTIAL BUSINESS.

The Ontario government has published a list of essential workplaces that may continue to deliver goods and services.  Please see #68 on the official list here.

Stores and properties are hiring private security guards to help with crowd control and the securing of their property and assets.  They are asking us for more graduates. Security is more important than ever.

Ontario Exams

Pursuant to a mutual agreement between the Ministry of the Solicitor General and Serco, Serco will not be conducting sessions for security guard and/or private investigator exams effective March 26, 2020, until further notice. Candidates who have scheduled an exam, will receive a refund.

If you have any questions or need information regarding testing, cancellation, or refund policies, please contact Serco at SGT@drivetest.ca. As this situation continues to evolve, please continue to monitor the Serco website for updates at https://ontariosecuritytesting.com.

First Aid Classes

Canadian Red Cross

As we navigate through this unprecedented time together, we are committed to helping you continue training while supporting the practice of social distancing. We have several online and blended training options for you to consider.

Online course options

The Canadian Red Cross offers a number of online course options, which can be used to encourage training during this time. Participants looking to take a blended first aid course or first aid recertification course in the future can take the time now to complete the online component.

To support this option, we are offering the online component of our Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid, and CPR courses as separate stand-alone courses. These are normally offered as part of our blended delivery programs.

The online component will issue a confirmation of completion certificate which is valid for 90 days. Completion of this online training will also appear in the user’s profile and can be verified by their employer.

Participants will be required to complete the in-person training component within 90 days of completing the online component, after which they will be issued three-year certification. With many individuals postponing in-person training, this will provide a solution to continue supporting education in the short term.

Please see the schedule via links on our First Aid course page here.

Alberta Exams

Alberta Justice is processing licenses and exam proctors are still open for business.  Processing time is delayed due to reduced staffing.
